A routine is a recurring job you describe once. Jarvis runs it on a schedule and reports back, so the work that used to need you is done before you ask.

## Create one in plain English

Describe what you want and when. Jarvis turns it into a schedule and shows you a preview before saving.

Say this: "Every weekday at 7am, summarize what changed in my projects overnight."
Jarvis: Preview: runs Mon to Fri at 7:00am. Save this routine.

## It runs while you sleep

Routines fire on schedule even if your Mac was asleep at the time, catching up once when you wake. A routine that finds nothing to report stays quiet.

## Where results land

Routine results are delivered to your chat, so a morning briefing is waiting for you on your phone.

> [note] One-time setup: message your Jarvis bot once on your chosen chat app so it can reach you. Chat apps do not let a bot message you first.

## Jarvis offers them too

When Jarvis notices you doing the same thing repeatedly, it offers to turn it into a routine.

> Checkpoint: You now have an assistant that works on a schedule, not just on demand.
